WhatsApp: Cannot set profile picture

Hi,

I have a Fairphone 1 with Android 4.2.2 installed. Today, I installed WhatsApp for the first time. I cannot set a profile picture. I tried both ways to set the picture but it doesn’t work.

  1. Taking a picture with the camera: I can take a picture. I can crop it. But after clicking on OK nothing happens for a few seconds. Then an error message is displayed (translated from German): “Error when updating the profile picture. Please try again later.”

  2. Choosing an existing picture from the gallery: I can choose a picture. I can crop it. But after clicking on OK nothing happens for a few seconds. Then an error message is displayed (translated from German): “Error when updating the profile picture. Please try again later.”

Any idea?

Nothing changed but now it works.
