Hello,
I am Beroun from Spain (Mallorca). I received a Fairphone 2 from a friend that has been using it since 2015 (and now owns a different phone) and I am excited to finally join this community! I wanted to get a Fairphone in December 2019 but the prices prevented me to do so, this time I looked into second hand (almost bought a 3+) and was rewarded with my friend having this spare phone.
Would like to meet with more people from Mallorca who own a Fairphone, although I do realise that the chance of someone from this island being in this forum is quite slim
Welcome to our community My memory might cheat me, but I actually believe that Fairphone co-founder @mikiballester (you can also read from & about him in this topic) stems from your island, too. However, I think that as he is still with Fairphone in Amsterdam, he might not be seen in your area on a daily basis anymore.
Wow. If that’s the case I am proud that someone from here is part of such a great movement. I will try to get our/my island added to the list of spanish locations.
Hi there, I’m usually called bluefire, a new Fairphone user from Switzerland. I have been following the company for a while, until about three weeks ago I was finally able to buy my Fairphone 4!
My previous phone was a Motorola G5, four years old and started to fall apart… I repaired it with an IFixit Guide once, but now I think it was time for something new. The FP 4 is the first “real good and big” phone I buy for myself and therefore I started right off with registering the 5 year warranty and treating it very carefully. I hope it will last me at least 5 years, the more the better!
Very happy with it so far, an issue with the SD card (see other thread) but I can live with it. Overall I’m glad I got it and think it’s an impressive, good quality product.
I’m back!
I was one of the early birds that joined the FP1 crowdfunding back in 2013. In 2017 I deflected to the dark side, since it became difficult relying on a phone stuck on Android 4.
Lately my replacement has showing signs of old age and since a fully working and reliable phone has, willy-nilly, become one of life’s necessities, I now decided to go for a FP4.
Received it earlier this week and today I finally found time for setting it up. No hassles so far…
Hi. My name is Ronald. I really like the Fairphone concept. I love the idea of modular phones. I would like to know more details because I plan to switch to this platform. I might have some questions. Either way, I’m happy to join the community. You are implementing a great idea. Thank you !
Hi and welcome, this is only a user forum, none here implemented the idea. And although the phone is modular, which may be attractive to some, it’s fairtrade that is really the impetus.
I’ve been getting into lineage OS recently and the only currently supported phone with a 64bit chip and an exchangeable battery seems to be the Fairphone!
My current plans are to continue using my old phone until it breaks and then get whatever Fairphone is selling
Hi Beroun, Sorry I reply so late. But indeed I’m a proud Mallorquin, living in The Netherlands for 15 years… :0 But I do go back to visit as often as I can! Nice meeting you!
Greeting from France !
I’m currently the owner of a FP3+ but considering switching to a FP4 as one my friend’s phone is dieing and she’s very interested by my FP3+. (I know this is not really the Fairphone ethic though ^^). Before that, I used to have Oneplus smartphones.
I’ve known this brand from work and I’m super happy with it.
Other than that I’m working in a tech support and I like testing stuff. My main fav topic regarding technologies are data privacy, open source and futur proof stuff.
Hello ! I hope you’re all good. I am new here and i will probably participate on the french side of this forum most of the time to be honest. I’ve heard about fairphone a lot so i very want to get one to try. Thank you and have a good day !
