I have two Ugreen CM231 USB to Audio adapters (plus another, non-charging adapter) which I used on my FP5. All worked perfectly for around 18 months, then simultaneously stopped routing audio. For a couple of weeks, toggling the Disable USB audio routing setting in Dev options cured this, but that too is now failing. Does any one have an idea of a fix?
So you use this to connect wired headphones? Did you test different headphones?
I experience exactly the same problem. Something must have been changed. I have this problem with two different headphones.
Yes, both headphones and my car audio input. The symptoms don’t, however, support it being a headphone issue, since the audio continues to come out of the phone speaker.
I just installed the latest updates, but the problem is not yet solved.
The phone also failed with adb, and won’t mount as a mass storage device. I suspect a hardware failure and I’ve ordered a new USB module. I’ll report back.
I also thought it could be a hardware problem but because it worked fine for more than a year and recently stopped working, just as it did for you, I still think it could be a software problem. I’m very curious to know if changing the USB module does solve it. And FYI: my phone did indeed also fail with adb.
kind regards,
Hugo
Can confirm, it was hardware (at least on my phone). I ordered and fitted a new USB port, and USB audio now works.
Replacing the USB port solved it for me too. I think a USB port going defect after only 18 months is not really a sign of quality hardware.
I had a similar problem with another phone. The problem was caused by a accumulated clothing fibers, after removing the obstacles everything started working properly. It’s worth checking out the old port.
