[URGENT] Looking for Fairphone 4 display in Florence, Italy – until October 11

Hi everyone!

I’m a German tourist currently staying in Florence, Italy, and unfortunately I broke the display of my Fairphone 4.

I’m urgently looking for a replacement display (F4DISP-1DG-WW1), either new or used, as long as it works.

I’m leaving Florence on Monday, October 12, so I would need to get the display before then.

I’m happy to pay a reasonable price and can pick it up anywhere in Florence or the surrounding area.

I can replace the display myself, so I don’t need any repair service.

Does anyone in Florence or nearby happen to have a spare display, or perhaps a broken Fairphone 4 with a working screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

P.S. @mpolito1969 I came across your post about helping Fairphone users in Florence. Since you’re based in the area, I thought you might know someone who has a spare Fairphone 4 display or could point me in the right direction. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ciao,

No, unfortunately I don’t have any FP4 spare.

However, I have an old Asus Zenfone 3 that you could use waiting to have your FP fixed.

Message me if you think it could be a solution.

Ciao,
Max

Hi Max,

Thanks so much for the offer, I really appreciate it!

I actually managed to get remote access to my Fairphone working in the meantime, so I can now control it from my laptop. That solves most of my problems.

The only tricky part is displaying QR codes for things like tickets and boarding passes, but I’ll see if I can get that working on my Garmin smartwatch.

So I think I’ll be fine for the next few days, even without a working screen. I’ve already ordered a replacement display for when I get back home.

Thanks again for offering to help, that was really kind of you!

Cheers!

I’m happy to know you’ve found a workaround.

Have a safe trip home.

Ciao,
Max

@j-t-n when you have time, can you explain how you have done that? It may be very helpful for people who are travelling and may experience similar issues.

Thanks for asking. I also can’t imagine how to control a smartphone from a PC (behind some easy operations through adb) but I felt ashamed to ask.
