Do I need to reflash open Gapps after each update?
From here on ā¦
Short: No, but it canāt hurt when you are in TWRP anyway.

Just updated to lineage-14.1-20180220-nightly-FP2-signed.zip (includes February patch level) with the updater. Smooth as always.
Do you know, whether the latest FP2 update against reboot issues is included already?
It is not included, and the update apparently is in the binary blobs ⦠so I guess the update would be in a new modem.zip and not in the LineageOS build.
Can anyone confirm?

āA special update has been released. You can get it only through the updater.
The changes in this special update are going to be included in the binary blobs of the March monthly release, due out in early March.ā

Installed recently latest modem-zip. Is it true that it is not necessary to re-install modem after every update of LOS?
The good but astonishing news for me after installation of modem-zip is:
My phone which became sometimes relatively warm stays cool.
It is only necessary if there is a new version of it.
It gets installed independently from the OS, so you can install the OS as many times as you want, the installed modem files donāt get deleted or changed by that.
Sometimes they even fix stuff with a new version .
Iād also like to know - a friend of mine has a Q3/2017-FP2 with Lineage OS and lots and lots of reboots per day and relies on my help to get rid of those as soon as possible. Does she need to get her hands on a new modem.zip and flash through TWRP or can she just install the upcoming Update next Tuesday?
The activivy of @chrmhoffmann here: https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_fairphone/commits/cm-14.1 seems to hint to an integration in the upcoming Update or am I wrong?
That, it seems. Coming with the next regular Fairphone update early march.
This canāt hurt anyway. Stuff gets fixed all the time .
Hi, no it does not include the reboot fix.
The reboot fix package is not yet available for download (only through updater). Also, if the fix is really only in modem (NON-HALOS image), it would not be distributed with lineage but must be flashed separately.
Chris
Thatās a rare occurrence - most of the Q3 20017 and later devices will also have the new display module, which doesnāt play nicely with Lineage yet.
(In case people otherwise think Lineage isnāt affected by the reboot issue fixed in FPOS with the new blobs)
Nevermind⦠time for me to get some more sleep (see below)
Youāre right, I must be confusing lineage and (probably) sailfish. Sorry about that!

modem-18.03.1.zip °
Baseband version: 4437.1-FP2-0-08 (Settings - About phone)
° Because Fairphone OS 18.03.1 was released with modem file changes but there was no new modem.zip at the time of writing, I booted up a Linux and downloaded the shell script from How to make your own modem.zip.
Because there were no new OTA and manual files for Fairphone OS at the time of writing, which the script would normally use, I simply entered the already available new Fairphone Open OS URLs and checksums into the script and thus got my own new modem.zip.
Seems to be working until now ⦠Iāll update here when my phone suddenly combusts.
