Days it is unless something goes completely wrong in beta…
@yvmuell Could you please share your insights? Are you part of the beta group for FP4?
@Fairphone_CM Please share an update, your last statement is now again >1.5 month old and we do not see any progress.
Thank you.
I guess the “As stated in the update, we will share when we have news!” from less than 4 weeks ago still holds.
“we will share when we have news” is not what I consider an update on the situation. Imho FP should share their status on progress (or the opposite) more transparent, this would help to re-build trust after this mess.
Hello everyone,
the communication with users here on the forum has already significant improved. Thanks to @Fairphone_CM.
However, what Fairphone still doesn’t seem to understand is that, in my view, communication regarding software updates shouldn’t consist of only posting something once the update is finished and the release date has been set.
What frustrates me—and I think many others—the most is that for weeks or even months, there is absolutely no information about the progress of a software update’s development.
That’s why I’m asking @Fairphone_CM this question:
Fairphone works with external partners to develop software updates. I can’t imagine that these external partners don’t create a project plan and share it with Fairphone. Of course, not all details of this planning can be shared publicly. But information such as when alpha or beta testing begins, how long it lasts, and whether everything is going smoothly during that time or if there are still bugs—these are details that are important to Fairphone users.
So why aren’t they being shared here in the forum???
Best regards,
Robert
P.S. In my opinion, these informations are much more important than some funny videos on YouTube about Fairbuds XL. But pointing out problems with software updates isn’t so good for marketing.
P.P.S.
@yvmuell You mentioned a few days until the update. Well, a few days have passed!
New release notes shared here, so closing this topic.
