Hello!
I’m new here, so I hope I’m posting this on the right page. And I thank you all in advance for your advices!
I’ve bought a Fairphone 5 about 10 days ago, running on Android 14. I’ve installed the ebanking app of my bank and activated it without a problem. However, on opening the app the next time, it got stuck on the welcome page and didn’t really start. I couldn’t even log in, because the login screen didn’t show up.
I uninstalled and re-installed it. The installation went perfectly fine. But when I wanted to open it again, the result was the same: it got stuck on the welcome screen again. This means I can’t use this ebanking app, which is a pretty important issue to me, as I manage a lot of my administrative stuff on my phone.
I supposed this could have been caused by various factors:
- The ebanking app isn’t adapted for Android 14 or isn’t compatible with it anymore (Android 15 is already out there)
- I have another app that might make it more difficult to work
- Fairphone doesn’t like my bank or vice-versa

- others…

I have looked for other questions about this, but couldn’t find any here or any other forums, so I hope this is not redundant.
Thank you in advance for your help! I look forward to reading what people have to say about Fairphones in general and about their experience.
Have a great day!
Hello and welcome to the forum.
I think what could help is for you to share the name of the app, then some people might chip in sharing their experience with this particular app. I understand the reluctancy though.
For context, I am using like five different banking apps on my FP5 with no issues.
And just to double check, you’re using the stock Fairphone OS, on its newest update?

Thank you for your quick answer!
I’m using the Raiffeisen e-banking app. It’s a Swiss bank. So far, I haven’t found any information about this kind of troubleshoot.
Yes, I’m using Fairphone stock OS and updated it to Android 14 as it was requested by the phone itself. So far, I haven’t made any change to any of this, as I want first to experience Fairphone as it is before tweaking anything.
I hope this helps!
Have you contacted your bank yet? Maybe they know more about this issue with their app.

Hi thanks
I have never used Raiffeisen app - is it the one you meant?
I have downloaded and installed with no issues, even received a login code via text message. But as I am not their customer, I did not continue.
Unfortunately, in the meantime my fairphone suffered from the coffee incident and now is being dried but I could send you some printscreens tomorrow.
I had a look on reviews on Google Store and there was only one comment suggesting lack of compatibility with Samsung
