ATTENTION!!
I have copied some bits of the template from the list on eSIM compatibility as a starting point
- This wiki is just a list compiled by fairphone users to share their experience
- It is nothing official by Fairphone.
- Fairphone support and warranty is limited to certain countries and regions. The fact of some users having a positive experience outside this area should not be understood as a change in official policy and should always be treated with caution
This list is supposed to make it easier for new users and/or users who wish to use FP when travelling to different countries. The aim is to help them to choose an operator most likely to work with their Fairphone
This is a wiki, so please edit it with the pencil below to add information on your experiences. It would be best to keep an alphabetical order of countries and operators; so feel free to add your entry in the right place of an existing list, just add your country if it’s missing. Add any information you may find useful, including but not limited to SIM/eSIM, easiness of purchase prior to travel, the strength of signal especially in remote areas, roaming, voLTE and wi-fi calling
Example for an Entry:
Country
- Operator A: operates their own network, charges 15€ for eSIM, not officially supported, available exclusively via online support request, also available for prepaid
Tanzania (Zanzibar) Source: @T4om
-
Vodacom [FP5]: operates their own network, the eSim is not available at local shops, or does not exist (not sure). a physical SIM just work’s no issues, need to manually set APN, that’s very normal there not something related to FP. APN on the provider websites are often wrong if you have isues ask people on the street for the APN settings they use. network coverage is different each village. different operators are dominant depending on the village.)

Tigo and Zantell are closed related. share each others network’s, Tigo is focused on the mainland, Zantel on Zanzibar)
