Time passes and fp6 continues rebooting

Update released, installed … nothing new.

My fp6 continues rebooting. Formatted reinstalled 4 times. Nothing

I opened another ticket, I explained the symptoms: WiFi connection lost, no network available and then reboot.

I think that Fairphone should do something, not simply say “disable this option, do this or that.”

What if I claimed a full refund?

What if all of us claim a full refund?

Why should I mine works fine?

You will find out when you do.

Did you try to request a repair via repair portal?

If yours works fine, I am happy for you. So why are you following this post?

I opened two tickets on the support portal. Always the same standard answers: try to stay offline (for how much time? The problem is random) try performing a full reset )done 4 times) try startin in safe mode (then what should I wait?).

And after that, did you install any other app than the ones that come preinstalled ?

I opened two tickets on the support portal.

You should not open multiple tickets, simply answer “nothing that you tell me works, I want a repair/refound”…

I reinstalled all the apps I had before.all official apps. I use my smartphone for work. If I had to use only the pre installed apps it would be an ornament and not an instrument.

My mistake opening two tickets. I’ll do as you suggest

I you had to find if the problem comes from the device (hardware or OS), you would try first to use the device without installing any app… and then if device’s stable without any app, start installing apps one by one stress testing each one after another.

I mean, if you have some overload problem at home, what do you do ?

You plug in all that you can plug in your home, or you unplug everything to see if problem occurs without anything plugged, and then, plug and stress test your installation one device after the other ?

Of course you can also say your house is cr4p and then change house…

My fp6 continues rebooting

Also what do you mean about “rebooting” ?

Do you have to enter the SIM PIN after those, or just need to unlock the phone (fingerprint or code) ?

I have to enter the SIM PIN

mmmhhhh… Unfortunately I do not have two smartphones, so I have to install Payment apps, 2FA apps, home banking. I do not use it for gaming, no social except Whatsapp and Signal.
Anyway I am an user not a tester. I buy a phone and I need to use it. can’t spend days installing a single app, test it for a week and go on.

Also I bought it in january and I started experiencing the problem in April. The 14 days for refund have passed.

I have to find a solution.

Did you even try to dismantle the phone, clean every connector with isopropyl alcohol, then reassemble it ?

Or you search for solutions where you have nothing to do ?

If you by a car and the engine randomly stops after 4 months, do you dismount the engine and clean it or you ask for a solution to your reseller?

The issue is occuring very rarely? Else I dont see why you would need to test all apps for such a long time. When the rebooting is recurring only every few days, is there anything in common like place? What else have you dont to mitigate? Use it without 5G e.g. ? How old is the SIM card? Do you use a SD card, did you test without?

To find a solution its in my eyes more conszructive to provide here info and search.for help instead of just venting understandable frustration.

The issue is absolutely random. sometimes a week with no problem, sometimes two/three times a day, always at home (the only place where I use WiFi), never outdoor (where I use 5G).

I have an eSIM

Yes I use a SD card for my photos and no I did not test. I will

Hello @Antonino_Guardala
sorry to hear about your obviously frustrating experience.

Following the troubleshooting, you mentioned rebooting only happens on WiFI connection, could you please tell us more about the WiFI settings? Is your mobile connection at home stable?

I understand that might be demanding to test for a long time (you wish to be able to use your phone and be available) but once it happens, could you de-activate your SIM and see whether that changes anything?

you mentioned four formatting - you mean the factory reset right? did you need to re-upload your eSIM each time?

For what I know it is stable. No problems with TV, PC or other Smartphones

Yes.

For information: I had the device in my hands, I saw the WiFi icon desappeared; checked WiFi settings: no network available (usually a lot of networks available). Waited a few seconds, the device freezed and then rebooted

As its only happening at home with wifi, try to change the router to wifi 5 on case its wifi 6.

Please confirm the OS and Version you have installed.

Android 16 (FP6.QREL.16.82.0)

Disabled WiFi 6 to see if something changes

There is no such thing here on this forum.

Only people than can offer you DIY solutions…

Are you based in the US?
I had the same issue when working in NY, using my Italian physical sim card + an American virtual one. The phone did not like that and kept rebooting.
When I disabled the Italian sim while in the US, the problem stopped. Now I’m in Italy and I’m only using the original physical sim: haven’t had a problem in months.

No, I am in Italy.

Always used an eSim never a physical one

24 hours with WiFi 6 disabled on the router. No reboot yet.

Wait another 24 and wil reenable WiFi 6 and wait again

Reenabled WiFi 6 on the router.
