Thoughts on Fairphone 6 launching in the US?

Fairphone finally seems to be officially launching a phone in the US. They just published this teaser with what seems to be FP6 package and the QR visible directs to this video discussing FP6 being launched in the US.

What are your thoughts and how would you interpret that? The video also discusses Fairbuds XL, but that seems to be prior to the point linked in the QR.

The original FP6 box would have had to be at least (probably more than that) quadrupled in size (at least twice the width and twice the thickness) to fit to the size of a normal hand and the distance of both hands in the video. I doubt that Fairphone would not just re-colour, but also inflate the size of the box to that extent just to set it apart visually.
Apart from the box size, “Can your hear it?” also fits the Fairbuds XL better.

On a side note, the braille next to the QR code just reads “Scan QR code for help”.

I dont think that FP will sell phones in the US, thats planned by Murena (or done already).

The US plans are officially mentioned already here.

Hi, I need to say I myself repeated these rumours as it was mentioned in the video linked and also somehow implied in the article quoted here by Urs

For me it sounds believable. I vaguely recall the news about FP talking to US carriers but I cannot find it now.

There was mention about negotiations with the carriers in the video linked to the QR, which was clearly an easter egg. You’re right about the size though, the scale isn’t properly visible in the shorts video but can be seen in the actual video thumbnail.
