I’ve had my Fairphone 5 for a few months and have varied success charging it. It won’t charge from my car or from certain power packs, plus also from certain charger plugs. Usually, the phone charger icon initially shows that it is charging, but then stops charging. Is this a known issue, is there something I can do about it?
What cable you used? Some cheaper (or crappier) charging cables shave off a few mm from the sides and that can lead to contact issues. Ikea cables worked fine for me.
Various types. Some work, some don’t.

My FP5 (also other relatively modern phones I have) can be fussy about charging. “Usually, the phone charger icon initially shows that it is charging, but then stops charging.” mine does this even on the Fairphone charger sometimes and is getting worse. Seems the guy in the other thread fixed it by replacing the USB-C port.
While replacing the port may help, cleaning out the port with a flattened toothpick may also do wonders. If there’s something in the USB port, the grip won’t be good and the port will not charge reliably. Occurred to me several times including recently.
Same problem with mine. Will try cleaning the port, then replacing it.
