Is there any supported operating system left for the FP2? Line…

I think ‘End Of Life’ means hardware support … If you are a software developer you can support the device with the latest software blobs for this device as long as you can support the binary interfaces of the blobs …

Android 7 through 11 are end of life and DivestOS provides best effort backports of fixes to them, which are shipped each moth. Please read: Patch Levels - DivestOS Mobile Patch Counts - DivestOS Mobile DivestOS is the most secure option for FP2.

How about writing “AOSP End of life” or “End of life (AOSP)”.

Which information can I follow ti be noticed, that there is an new update available. The wiki page on merproject.org isnt updated I think.

I forgot to make the usual announcement topic for new Sailfish OS release on this forum. Also Sailfish OS 4.6.0.15 is available now. I will update the wiki page and add a proper announcement here. (Edit: wiki has been updated, I will build the image for new release hopefully this weekend but updatin…

Hello Fairphoners ! Since Divestos is no longer maintaned what are the options for dinosaurs still using FP2 ? Sailfish ? But you have to buy it right ?

Sailfish OS for FP2 has never cost anything. You can just download it and I still maintain it.

Oops, my bad… Indeed, it is very clear here . Do you know if from a clean DivestOs 18.1 (A11) rom I can install Sailfish directly, without installing Fairphone Os 18.04 or Fairphone Opensource 18.04 ? Thanks a lot for maintaining Sailfish for FP2. It seems to be the last system being still updated. …

As the instructions say first the Opensource OS 18.04 Android from Fairphone needs to be flashed and then Sailfish OS installed after that. The Android installed on the device needs to be that version because Sailfish OS uses some parts of Android for hardware support via libhybris.

Supported OS für / for FP2
