Startscreen just changed, showing "essentials" and a brief list of apps

My start screen just changed, from my normal background with shortcuts to apps into one showing “essentials” and a brief list of most use apps (these short cuts don’t work) (cf. attached screenshot). The phone appears to work, I can access the settings, taking a screenshot, and sharing it. But I can’t access the apps… Anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for solutions? I’d prefer not to do a ‘hard reset’ if possible. Best, Allan
