I have been having issues with Spotify since my start of using my Fairphone 5 in about October.
The main issue is that sometimes when I use Spotify (playing some music or a podcast, does not seem not matter which) with or without headphones, the playback just stops or it rather seems like spotify shuts down completely. Because the app also disappears from the “notification tab” or however that tab is called and I have to reopen it. When reopening it also seems like it is not loading from the ram, as in the app was still open in the background and instead it has to restart “from scratch”.
This does not happen to often but I’d say like 1-5 times a day depending on the spotify usage I guess. I have not been able to narrow down the issue any further.
I have already tried setting the battery settings of the Spotify App to unrestricted.
I think that happened to me as well, rather rarely and I considered that to be a bug of Spotify, not the FP, as I have bugs different and changing when using Spotify since years, for me the usability of the Android App detoriates since years.
However you might want to check battery optamization settings of the app and if any battery saver is enabled when it happens.
