[SOLVED] FP3 stuck in bootloop after installing latest FPOS Android13 (April 2026)

Like the title say, the FP3 is stuck on a bootloop after I instsalled the FPOS android13 to revert from e/os.

The device is fully unlocked (oem, unlock_critical, bootloader). When it first rebooted after a successful installation, it got stuck on the ‘i’ of fairphone after the animation. Then after a while it restarts.

I have tried to enter recovery mode, but I got the screen ‘no command’. After reading some articles it says to just use the combination ‘power+Vol up’ from this screen to restart and enter the recovery mode, though after trying several times it still doesn’t enter recovery mode. I have also tried through the fastboot screen and select recovery, but no success.

What could be the solutions?
Would a new installation of FPOS works?
Or a new installation of e/os?
If the issue is being to wipe the previous data, can I do so with a fastboot command?

Best,

My individual experience:
When I reached the “no command” screen, I was able to proceed to Recovery Mode most reliably by first holding POWER and then briefly pressing VOLUME UP (while still holding Power). As soon as you proceed, release both buttons.

That in fact is the recovery mode. Before you can do anything, though, you need to press the Power button and Volume-Up. It’s a bit finicky and probably needs a few tries. See e.g. here: After installing Android 13, bootloop - #3 by Thibault_Lasnier

P.S.: Urs was faster

P.S. 2: fastboot -w wipes the user data AFAIK

Thanks for stating that this was the recovery screen! I didn’t know

and it worked like a charm, holding power, and clicking Vol up, and I could wipe the data.

Now the phone is back to FPOS!
