Starting to wonder if this is a non-fixable hardware issue that they’re working around, or there’s a serious lack of embedded software development talent.
Since installing the update, my FP6 lost WiFi networking at least twice. Although WiFi is enabled, and I’m near well-known networks, it doesn’t find any networks (only mobile networrk). Only restarting the phone resolved the issue for me both times.
Is anybody else experiencing this?
PS: I think I also had the “System UI is not responding” message at least once since the update, which results in a reboot after a minute or so. But that’s a separate issue.
I’m still at QREL.15.84.0 (May 2025), my provider is Vodafone NL. No update available.
Any idea when Vodafone starts validating FW updates for FP6?
Not on FP6, but an FP5 in our family encountered such an issue after the update to Android 15. We played around with that for a few days (and had my FP5 as baseline which didn’t have this issue) before we reset the WiFi settings. That includes losing all known WiFi networks but it helped. After setting up our home WiFi in the phone again it happily connects again whenever it’s in reach. The option to reset is in the settings under System → Options for Reset (or something similar, I translated it from my phone).
Got the update just now. As suggested, I restarted the FP6. After that, mobile network was broken. I had to dis/re-enable the physical SIM to get the PIN entered again. Pls fix that.
Maybe a good news with this update: battery life seems much longer. An app optimisation or a background process killed? Let’s see if it stays like that…
The low fps after unlocking issue is still there for me.
I re-enabled the auto brightness to test it again because it used to be too dark most of the time, it’s a bit too early to tell if it’s good but so far I think I had to fix the brightness less often than before the update.
Thank you for the security updates.
Same issue here. I’m still on the QREL.15.105.0 release, because Vodafone DE is blocking the updates. I only received this update because in the beginning I didn’t put my SIM card into the phone. At the moment there’s no chance for me to get any further updates (122, 148, …) due to the provider. Even the using SIM cards from different provider lead to no success. ![]()
I tried this on the weekend, as well. I am also on Vodafone DE, no update so far. My friend let me borrow his sim card for a few mins and put it in my phone but I still didn’t get an update ![]()
so you did manually search for the update and your SIM card (dont know if physical or eSIM) was deactivated?
@anon76468197 I understand FP has contractual restrictions, however a few words reg Vodafone Germany should still be possible. For all devices FP4, FP5, FP6 there is a delay of weeks to months in releasing updates since approx. 6 months. That isnt normal and should not be the case. so whats going on?
Is the Screen Lag Issue still Present to this Date?
did you read any of the above or in the respective topic?
This update is not available, as usual.
I’m still at 084 from May 2025 on my FP6.
When will Fairphone fix the security update issue with Vodafone?
kindly confirm your FP is a FP4 or FP6, this topic here is about the FP4
Sorry, I’ve Fairphone 6
moved your post in the most recent FP6 update topic
Is there a reason why the firmware download is not provided on the support sites of Fairphone? So I could at least manually update/flash my device, even when I’ll lose all my data. My idea was, as long as OTA is not available for some users, backup my current installation, then manually upgrade the phone, root it again and finally import my backup again.
