Update went well
Update available but failed to download or install
It seems I missed the notification about the successful update which usually appears after the reboot. anyone else?
Edited to say that I have a reoccurent issue with the recent button not working (just now after the update again) but now instead of rebooting, I clean the quickstep storage and cache ( I use different launchers) and that works like a charm.
Send it in for repairs. You should be covered by warranty.
Use the self-repair portal, if you’re lucky you won’t need to wait to get an answer from support.
Backup your data before, at repair I will get wiped.
I did it (with a different issue) two months ago, I had it back after a little less than two weeks
Edit: Same as for @Meaghan, the repair was finished the day it arrived at the repair place and directly left again, but shipping took a few days each
@gdl
The fingerprint sensor repair should be automatic. Meaning the moment you request the repair, you initiate the process of generating the RMA and labels, and can start prepping your phone.
Fingerprint sensor is unresponsive or not detected.
The fingerprint sensor fails to register any input or is not recognized by the operating system. This is related to a known hardware issue from a specific production batch, which has been resolved in newer units Please follow the instructions on our official self-troubleshooting tool (Fairphone 5 → Sensors → Fingerprint sensor). Fixed: Hardware repair required
In my case they just swapped the midframe and it took them less a day but the transport took like 3-4 working days each way.
I sent my FP5 to official assistance, but it seems they din’t found any failure of the finger print sensor…
The good news by now is that my FP5 is on the way back to home
They replaced the frame, it should work like new:) no software failure found.
Please note that while IMEI numbers of the phone should not change, in my case the IMEI stickers on the frame were replaced (and as a result do not match the phone proper ones).
In that case make sure you have them stored somewhere safely as you will no longer be able to retrieve them just opening the phone.
