There is a new update on the website - has anyone got it yet? My phone does not see it.

Release date: 14th October 2024

Resolved issues

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the ‘Show Device Controls’ on the lockscreen to reappear after a reboot even if disabled.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the boot animation to slow down under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the accessibility menu to sometimes disappear.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the external speakers’ stereo channels not to properly adapt to the device orientation.

Other improvements

  • Minor UI changes and translation improvements.

I can add some improvement that some were waiting for:

With this update it will be possible to add at the bottom left and right quick access icons to e.g. camera, flashlight…on the lockscreen.

Edit: also fixed is this (update: the issue is back)

The update bug is fixed but but the change will only be visible from the next update onwards.

Sorry for the delay, there was a mistake on the update configuration and that is why the update was not offered yesterday evening as it should have been.

Now it should be available for most users.

As always, if you did not receive it yet please have some patience, we are still in the approval process with a couple of partners.

rebooted phone after update.

Now you can actually customize the lock screen :smiley:

+the “close all app” button is moved to be under the opened app and not at the far left

  • new theif protection function got added: auto locks the phone if someone janks it out of your hands. You can find it under “security” → device unlocking → theif protection

With T-Mobile Czech SIM, update see before 1hour too :slight_smile:

BTW: As with previous UT27 OTA, with this UT2B for me again work reroot-on-device
(with Magisk trick “Restore Images” and after update/no_reboot “Install to inactive (after OTA)”) This is really good, as before 10x OTA updates i always must reroot with PC, with same
method as “first root unrooted system”…

When I try to install this update, I get an error “There has been a problem with rebooting. Try again later”. Is there a way of fixing this? Reboot won’t help.

After a few hours, the update is succesfully installed. I think I just need more patience :slight_smile:

Anybody know where the factory.zip is for this update? This returns with Access Denied: https://fairphone-android-builds.ams3.digitaloceanspaces.com/FP5/A14/FP5-UT2B-factory.zip

As usual, Restore Images → OTA update (without reboot) → Install to inactive slot results in a boot loop and reverting back to the slot without the update. I have to install Magisk from scratch every single time and not having the UT2B boot.img is not helping with that.
