Software Update: FP4.TP2U.C.0136.20250530

switched temporarily to o2-SIM. Update installed immediately without problems.

Did the same, update without problems.

Still no update in my phone.
Sim: Telekom Germany

Anyone else still without update?

Vodafone Germany is apparently still not rolling out the update.

Update July 3rd: Still no update for me.

That’s really bad. I’m also surprised because both Telekom and Vodafone usually release updates immediately.

It’s also annoying that there’s no explanation as to why it’s taking so long.

Still no update for me (Switzerland, Swisscom). I still only have the 5th March security update.
So annoying.

I needed to insert an old Blau sim to get the update. Realy annoying for such an important topic like security updates

Still no update for mine over Wifi, purchased at the FF store, even with all SIM cards removed (never had update delays before…). Not that important now that I got the FF6 as my FF4 has developed a ghost touch bug but still very strange…

I am still missing the update on my phone. What could be the reason?

Who is your provider in which country?

Hi folks.
My FP4 is still on FP4.TP2R.C.0132 (March 2025).
June update FP4.TP2U.C.0136 was released at June 12th but until today the update check in system settings doesn’t find it.
Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Some phone providers, especially in Germany, have not yet allowed the update (for some reason). See here for more details (around the bottom of the thread).

In Austria A1 and Magenta haven’t pushed it through as well.
Perhaps there’s been an error discovered, which is why the staged rollout has been halted?

interesting, i didn’t even know a phone provide could hold back updates..
i always thought that i get my updates throu fairphones own servers

Probably not relevant where you purchased it.

From what I’ve read so far with similar cases that’s not sufficient. You’ll need to (temporarily) add a SIM from a different provider not blocking the update.
Still there might be good reasons of your provider(s) to block it. So using the ā€œworkaroundā€ might come with some risk.

Hello everyone, Dear Fairphone Team,
I’m a huge fan of your concept, and it’s okay if something doesn’t work every now and then. I also don’t have a problem with the fact that the FP4 updates are so sparing and almost stingy. I also understand that if a device doesn’t sell, you don’t earn anything. I use my FP4 in an enterprise environment, and unfortunately, it’s a problem when the security updates simply don’t arrive. Please look into why so many people aren’t getting the update. Give us tips on how we can reach them, or something else. Communicate transparently. Doing nothing is the worst decision of all. Do good and talk about it!

Thank you

Maybe that is something to be addressed at the provider side instead of FP. I received my latest sec update weeks ago with O2 (or M-net respectively) as provider.
You can also try without SIM to upgrade in install the SIM afterwards. But you could possibly encounter problems as the provider approval must have some reason…

That does not work you need another SIM

Oh, I was actually not aware of that. Could one use an old SIM or does it need to be active, still?

As an inactive card wont log into the network, I doubt it would help
