A new software update based on Android 13 is now available to Fairphone 4 users.

Installed fine on EE UK

Installed yesterday without problems on the Vodafone network :sun_with_face:

Updated on Tuesday. Since the update I have problems with 5G. If I have a call, the data volume breaks down and the signal changes from 5G to 2G or lose the signal.
Anybody else with this problems?

I also called my provider (Spusu Austria), but it seems to be not a problem with them, because my friends without FP doesn’t have any troubles.

Update went smoothly, but since the update the neetwork connection is sometimes broken. I have an e-sim and a normal sim and both have the problem of losing connection. Not at the same time. It takes a while and then the connection is back. What went wrong with this update? See also the comment of @Pezi

So for you it happens during calls
and with the austrian provider Spusu? Else I think its not the same problem pezi has.

It is a Spusu problem see here

Not during calls. But random. Sometimes I can’t start a call because there is no connection.

I don’t know about any Austrian Networks. KPN is a Dutch network. I leve in the Netherlands

So actually a complete different issue in my eyes. You could start with resetting the APN, setting-network-sim-at the bottom. Also do both SIM have mobile data enabled? Try to disable the one you normally dont use for mobile data…

Fairphone didn’t find a solution yet.

VoLTE is activated, but Spusu told me, that VoLTE is not working actually for FP.

As the problem is similar to an user from netherlands, I think it must be a problem with the update.

Your problem is completely different to the problem of the user from the netherlands. You cant make calls and else you have mobile data. The KPN user has issues irrespective of calls and no reception at all.

This will probably be the last time I’ll post these, I’m moving my family member to CalyxOS. Getting tired of supporting Android 13, especially since Android 15 has been working fine for me.
No idea if anyone actually used these links :thinking: someone else will have to step up if there’s still a need (the current factory images are already available, let’s just hope that’s gonna be the case for future releases as well).

Update went smoothly except for a slight hesitation after entering the “optimizing” stage.

Calls OK both VoLTE and VoWi-Fi.

Charging OK. I have only one (e-) SIM (Free Mobile, France)
