I feel like the security update caused a regression with the ghost touch fix.
Thanks, it works also for my FP4. Very strange behaviour.
Bye
which will have an EMF effect somewhat similar to plugging in a USB cord, so weāre in the same family of work-arounds.
Touching the frame presumably wonāt be an option for those who use soft plastic cases.
Iām not sure if I understand you correctly, but for me the sensitivity also improved when touching the side of the official case.
Same for me, sensitivity improves when I touch the case in which the phone is fully covered.

Hi @hirnsushi ,
Thanks for the link. My FP4 tells me that this is a package for the source build SP2G, not SP2J. Do you have a link to the SP2J OTA?
Thanks
Charlie
Nope, sorry, thatās what I got when performing that update
If you only need a partition from around that time the full FP4.SP2J.B.086 factory images are available here, but Fairphone still hasnāt put up the links to the OTA packages they started mentioning in the docs a while ago
A wait, hereās your problem:
That message means that your phone is not on SP2G, the OTA updater expected SP2G and since that isnāt what it found it refuses to update (since those are delta OTAs you can only go from one specific version to the next).
What you want is the SP2K version (or one of the even later ones, boot into recovery, the current version string should show up there IIRC)
Thanks a lot, it worked!
My wife and I both have a FP4.
My Phone had really hard ghost inputs before the update. Now itās definitively better, but I still have ghost touches from time to time. I can confirm the issue that when the phone lies on a table the pinch-to-zoom only works only when touching the case.
My wife did not have ghost inputs but now has the low sensitivity issue. She uses the official screen protector. With her phone itās only possible to pinch-to-zoom when fully holding the phone in the hand.
I love the concept of FairPhone but itās really hard to enjoy the FP4 right now.
Ok Iāve been enduring this issue for 6 months now. Pinch zoom only works when touching the case.
Iām starting to look for other phone manufacturers which claim they follow more ethical and ecological practices.
(Ironically, back in the day my FairPhone 2 was rendered unusable by ghost touches. I managed for a couple of months by clicking a piezoelectric cigarette lighter near the display every time I wanted to use the phone.)
Sadly, Fairphone has now twice made me behave in an unsustainable manner by forcing me to buy a new phone way before I really needed to.
Same sad idea, Iām not changing my smartphone only due the expensive period.
But are too many months with this dangerous issue, and the faith is downing lowā¦
I have also the issue with the noise of the video recorded at a concert ( Record a concert, sound issue ).
