The new “low sensitivity” touch screen issue seems to be connected to how much conductive area is put on the screen. For example, if the phone is lying on a not grounded surface and I use only the tip of a finger to navigate, it will not work. But when I lay the finger flatter on the screen, like with nearly the whole fingerprint, it works.
Contrary to what has been reported earlier, it’s not about how hard you press (can’t, because it’ a capacitive screen), probably ppl experience this, because the harder you press, the flatter your finger and the higher the conductive area on the screen.
I didnt have the issue of “Ghost inputs” but now the touchscreen seems to be way less sensitive and responsive.
Also I noticed that two finger pinch zoom does not work when the phone lays on the table but when I touch the case with one hand then it does work. thats very annoying.
Since I finally got the update this weekend, I can see the same issue: I never had ghost touches, but now the screen has become seriously more unresponsive - especially when not holding the phone.
Same here. I get the feeling they only traded who gets frustrated with the screen.
To me it looks more and more like there have been some serious quality fluctuations with the screen over the past two years with some being totally fine and others being close to unusable.
It is hard to do zoom after the lastest update of ghost touch. As 1 finger to hold and second finger to expand move opposite direction to do the zoom. Before the ghost touch is more easily to do the zoom. Now, the Fairphone 5 will release this month. I wonder it’s possible that fairphone 4 can have the OLED screen?
Mine had ghost touches before the update.
The update improved the situation so thanks for trying to address the issue. Hopefully this will be totally fixed by a SW update.
