Well it’s hardly priority. If that were the last thing on the list needing to be fixed, I hope we’d be pretty happy

True, but no reason to ignore this issue since two years.
@formerFP.Com.Manager I know this is no official support forum, but maybe you have any information about this issue? The official support is no help as they are saying this will be fixed in the next update since 2020, so you are my last hope.

Similar to OldRoutard’s comment, there’s a finite amount of resources spent on updates and this may well never get fixed and there are a lot of other things I’d like sorted before this.
Maybe someone in the alternate OS options has this sorted and can send the code to Fairphone
I wonder what Murena is like ?
Got the update now, too and it ran through smoothly on my FP3 without any issues at first glance
Thanks for all the efforts in the background!
PS: I´ll keep you updated in case any unexpected issues show up
I think that the screen brightness can now be made dimmer again.
Unless you missed an update I’m pretty sure that was already the case
That was resolved in A10
Hi Alxndr The brightness has returned to its behaviour of before the 3.A.0129 update of 5 August. As you will see from that very long thread, the 0129 sought to implement a wider range of brightness but failed to compensate for this in the adaptive brightness function. The result was, that for many users their phones would suddenly go almost black! There is also a thread dedicated to the problem: The version you’ve just updated to, 0132, simply returns to the previous values. A fresh attempt…
Ahh, installing the security patch bricked the phone. Only grey static when I turn it on. Can anything be done?
screen brightness
You’ll also notice that Adaptive Brightness can be used without the screen going totally black (you’ll remember that was the main reason why lower brightness was withdrawn last year).
Only grey static when I turn it on
You don’t even see the Android boot splash screen?
PS - Welcome to the community forum by the way, sorry it’s in unfortunate circumstances
Hi everyone, I’ve received some extra information and have now updated the original notes with a bit more detail. Apologies for the delay on that. Some items were already noticed, so very well spotted @anon9989719 and @jdanielp.
Hi @Andreas_Peters-Lehm, sorry to hear that! Please could you contact our support team to look into that? Best route there would be to create a support request on our website as our phone lines are temporarily down due to a backlog but will reopen again on Monday August 8th.
The update was just now available for me and I have to say:
Gap to the left of the clock still wider than that to the right of the battery level
A cosmetic issue that left an empty space on the left side of the status bar when the carrier name was hidden in Settings, has now been fixed.
Yes, it is much better now! The gap is still a bit larger than on the other side, but much better than it was before.
Thank you for this fix, also thank you that the brightness can be lower now!
I posted a quick & dirty translation of the six changes listed in German elsewhere, so i guess it doesn’t hurt to post it here, too. Making this reply a Wiki right away.

Thank you so very much for the low brightness reintroduction and fix !
The new minimum brightness is still much brighter than before the “reroll”. Still can’t use my phone at night without a screen dimmer app (and with an active screen dimmer I’m not able to take proper screenshots). Back in spring last year when I got my FP3 the minimum brightness was perfectly dark.
I’m so sad this doesn’t get fixed and the minimum brightness lowered more
I don’t remember it being any darker than it is now, I have to keep turning it up as the evening comes on. ??
Installed last Wednesday, so far so good on my FB3+.
Too bad, after the last two system updates worked without problems after the notification that an update is available, now with the 4.A.0013.4 again the installation problem occurs that it does not want to install the update with 2 sim cards Vodafone and O2 Germany
Screen recording seem to be avaialable with this update as well
Updated 2 days ago and everything works as it should
