Slippery back cover of the Fairphone 5

I have a transparent Fairphone 5 and recently received the spare back cover I bought for it and it’s the blue one. I was kinda hoping it will be less slippery than the transparent one but so far, it’s not really. I also have a Fairphone 4 and this one of the initial things I noticed about the Fairphone 5. It feels less secured while holding which I think is because of the more slippery back cover material although it might also be because it’s thinner.

So now I’m left wondering why they had to change the texture/material for the back cover. Has they ever addressed this? Maybe the materials are better and more sustainable?
I’m really just hoping that for the Fairphone 6, we’ll get a much better feeling when holding it.

The Fairphone 5 case is a design failure. Like it doesn’t protect the screen because on the sides it is not tall enough and as you pointed out it can also be a bit too slippery.

…looked good at first. However unfortunately it isn’t really stable in the long run. My wife had two of them. The first one broke after the phone fell onto tiles when it was very new. The phone survived without a scratch, so that’s great. Because the case was so new she got a new one for free. That one was more lucky and survived longer, however it got cracks over time, too, the hang hubs dissolved over time, too, and so she finally went for the Tudia which looks really trustworthy so far.

Just to clearify are you talking about the Fairphone case or the battery cover?

Still unclear what you meant by case and battery cover but I’m talking about the literal back cover of the phone. I don’t use a case.

I guess the question was raised for clarification because @Furdiburd talked abou the case while you asked about the back cover (=battery cover).
