Skype doesn't start on FP Open with Open GApps pico

I switched from Fairphone stock OS to FP Open OS with Open GApps pico. When I want do start Skype now a popup says “Skype was stopped”. Anybody who has an idea what I could do?

I’m on nano, and have a script in place to deactivate some apps (see opengapps documentation). For me, Skype works

Thanks, Klaus,

sounds interesting. Can you tell which nano apps you excluded (or which ones you included)?

Sure. I created the following .gapps-config:

Exclude
FaceDetect
FaceUnlock
Hotword
Search
KeyboardGoogle
GMail
CalSync
ExchangeGoogle
FaceDetect
FaceUnlock
GoogleNow
Hotword
Photos
Search

So it looks as if you had not excluded speech from Nano. I am going to try to include speech as soon as my phone has been replaced. Afterwards I am going to report here.

I wanted speech for navigation with Osmand, as the simple speech is too “simple”, bad quality, in comparison

And now skype works, though I didn’t change anything. I haven’t got an idea why. Thanks anyway for your assistance.

I use Skype on FP Open OS without opengapps, it doesn’t need any google service.
