When my screen is off my fp6 eos does not receive messages from whatsapp or signal but it does as soon as I activate my screen. Only then notification sound is played and the sender sees that it has been received.
Do you have any battery saver mode enabled?
No but I have battery management on and battery load control on. Should I turn one or both of them off?
Just checked, indeed when battery management is off it works as it should, but when management is on even though whatsapp and signal are allowed tot use the battery in the background, messages will not be monitored . I think that is not how it should Work?

I indeed I’m unsure how it is in /e/o as I run Android, but usually battery management creates these issues. Maybe another user has seen it here or in the /e/os forum.

Well, at least I have a work around for now. Hope it will be solved some day. Thanks for the tip.

Set battery mode for these apps to unrestricted. You can also allow unlimited background data usage.
