Seem to be payment issues with fairphone 5 (e/os murena)

Hi. I am quite new to fairphone and being degoogled. But an issue I have come across appears to be related to payment. For example in Dublin early this week I could use the Uber app to booka taxi - but it failed on payment. I was under serious time stress !! so did not investigate fully, but I do not have issues (I am sure) with either my funds, my cards and the bank itself. But I cannot use AIB (Allied Irish Bank) app because it requires some google elements and my phone does not support that. So not using the AIB app is not a problem - but might that be why the payment for Uber was failing? Having said that I tried installing the FreeNow app and it failed to install because the installation process did not send the 6 figure code, and then it finally came through but the installation then reqyuired me to sign in by email which it didn’t accept. Is anyone able to throw some light on what is possibly happening here please. Possibly several issues…?

Yes, it was a card payment using my AIB debit card to pay in advance for the UBER booking. The cash option did not respond.
I ended up taking the bus and walking the length of Temple Bar. It was a lovely sunny afternoon!

I don’t use e/os myself so will not be able to help you further I am afraid.

I heard there’s a list of apps compatible or not with e/OS but I am not sure how updated the list is. I also don’t use UBER app so can’t comment on that. Perhaps there was a need for additional confirmation via your banking app? It sometimes happens to me when buying with a card that I need to confirm it inside the banking app.
