Revolut compatibility on Murena Fairphone 6 (/e/OS) - Poland 2026

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying hard to de-google my life. I’ve been holding on to my old OnePlus 9 (stripped of as much Google as the stock ROM allows), but the battery is dying and it’s time to move on.

I am looking closely at the Fairphone 6 with /e/OS pre-installed. I’ve seen some posts from 2025 about banking apps, but I want to be 100% sure before I pull the trigger: Does Revolut currently work on this setup?

I am based in Poland, so if there are any specific local quirks with verification or the app itself, I’d love to hear them. I was considering a Pixel 10 with GrapheneOS as an alternative, but I’d much rather go the /e/OS route if I can confirm that Revolut is stable and won’t require constant maintenance.

Does anyone have recent experience with this in 2026? Thanks!

Welcome to the community forum.

You can’t confirm this as long as Revolut don’t officially support the App on /e/OS. Right now, it may work, but it could fail anytime again.
If you really need the App, just stick to a setup which it is supported on :person_shrugging: .

I do get it - I’d expect old polish banks to pull this kind of move and the moment I heard my first thought was just to stop using it, and perhaps that’s what I’ll do soon enough, but for now I’m kinda locked in because that’s what my family is using. But yes, I see your point, I was just hoping to hear what’s the latest on the topic, since everything I see in that search is from last year.

True, but technically nothing has changed in the meantime.
Possible App compatibility issues in /e/OS are conceptional, they will not go away in all likelyhood, as they are the logical consequence of what /e/OS technically is and how the Android realm operates.

There’s no permanent fix for this other than App vendors directly testing and supporting their own Apps on so-called custom ROMs like /e/OS. I don’t see that happening anytime soon without regulatory intervention of some sort.

There was a systemic fix in in summer 2025, with version 3.1.x that made Revolut (and some other banking apps) work well.
I dont know the technical details, it probably could fail as soon as Google will develop some new “safety" feature” that will need to be implemented. Even before the fix there were certain Revolut app versions that worked - nobody knows if it was and accidental error or an unofficial way to keep the tech-savy clients.
I use exclusively Murena fairphones for many years now, most of the time most banking apps worked well. Since summer 2025 I had no issues at all, but it probably depends on goodwill of involved parties. For example mBank app works well in 99% of functionality but crashes when I try to view my debit cards - and I did some troubleshooting once and it resulted with info that app recognises unofficial system and does not trust system enough to allow viewing card data (but it lets me do all kinds of large transfers, exchange currencies, start new savings accounts, login to mGielda via mBank app and everything else)

So, there is some risk, it is not that 3.1 version offered some it is fail-proof solution. But it is a solution that works for now and probably will for foreseeable future.

Hi, I know the Revolut topic was solved as much as it could be, but I just wanted to mention that there is a local quirk with the Polish Play operator and Fairphone, limiting the identification of callers with 4G/5G networks.

It does. Normally the app need to have a not “hidden IP” , and works as usual.
