Portable charger

Hi all, Does anyone use a portable charger with their FP? I have a FP1 which seems suddenly as if it ideally needs a new battery. I realise this isn’t as straightforward as when FP1 was supported & I’m going on holiday soon; so I thought a portable charger might help. Also, I’ll be camping so will have limited opportunity to charge the phone. We will be hiring a car, though, & I wonder - forgive my technical ignorance - if there’s a device that lets you charge the phone from a car?!

ANy advice on all this would be gratefully received. Also, if anyone uses portable chargers or the like I’d love to know if any are more ethical than others.

Just search for “car usb charger” and you’ll find tons of 12V Cigarette lighter->5V USB adapters. You can plug your USB to Micro USB cable in there and charge your phone.

Same goes also for portable “powerbanks”. Any with a normal USB plug (most of them) will work just fine.

We’re going to be hiring a car in France & I was thinking of getting one in Scotland before I go: are there any differences country to country?

Also, are any more ethical than others?

Rental cars are often very new and thus most probably have a USB outlet built in. Maybe you can even state that as an option when you rent the car (or you can ask the rental company whether their cars have a USB outlet).

Thanks so much for all your help. In looking for one of these Huawei batteries, I’m finding some with a capacity of 3600mAh: would these be fine with the FP1, a good idea or not worth the extra few £s?
