Performance problem with Microsoft Launcher on FP5

I know Microsoft Launcher is from MS and is not the privacy-friendliest app, but I have to admit that I like the design and features. And well since I got my FP5, the Microsoft launcher is buggy/laggy. Basically, very regurlarly, when I unlock my phone or press the home button after some long in-app navigation, the launcher items and normal app icons take like 5-7 seconds to load. Sometimes the screen is even frozen, no navigation works, and I have to lock/unlock to unblock the issue. Any similar problems?

I already tried reinstalling the app, emptying the cache, starting my launcher config from scratch. But it’s still the same.

Another image to visualize the issue. Here the screen navigation is just blocked, I can’t do anything.

Have you restricted the app in any way? Like the Battery settings or anything, where it might not be drawing enough power to work correctly?

Nope, I gave it all the authorizations and no battery restrictions. I feel like it’s a RAM problem, as the logos take time to load, but it cannot be normally with the specs (and other apps would have issues too).

hi @vlstr,

just to be sure, sorry if was unnecessary.

the battery setting is restricted from default.
you need to allow unlimited use manually.

greetings

Tom

Yes sorry, I already put it into “No restriction”

Would the app or images be on a SD card? Maybe it’s not fast enough to load them quickly? Just trying to rule everything out!

The problem with the loss of controls: I have that on my FP5 too. I use FastDraw launcher and I am running iodeOS (Android 15 based). I had that on Android 14 too. Unfortunately I never found a fix for that. But I always thought it’s the launchers fault… But now I am not sure anymore.

Interesting! I also thought it was the launcher’s fault, but after all the reinitializing and considering that it is a very much used one, and perfectly worked fine on my previous S8, I actually really don’t think it is in the end…
