The issue is that people comment that I keep breaking up even though I can hear them clearly. I had the same issue with FP4 and it could not be fixed. That is why I bought another FP but I jumped to Gen 6 in the hope that this won’t be an issue. In addition my voicemail is not working either (my supplier the Phonecoop doesn’t seem to be able to resolve this either and suspects that it is a phone issue not carrier), basically I can’t use it as a phone but I depend on it for my work!!!
I have been a loyal Fairphone customer since you started with Gen 1, every generation had glitches which I was willing to accept and work around but this is getting ridiculous. If you can’t fix this I will ask for a refund and will have to buy another brand which after so many years would be a big disappointment.
kindly remind the forum no official channel to contact Fairphone and I or any other user, cant fix this, so kindly get in contact with Fairphone directly.
As its the same on 2 different devices, it might be bad luck, or rather a provider issue combined with Fairphones and for sure provider are fast in saying “not my fault”.
Maybe you have the chance to test a SIM of another provider.
I meant to say “if they can’t fix it”…
Hi Yvonne
I meant to say “If they can’t fix it”…
Interesting suggestion regarding testing a SIM from another provider, I have put in a new replacement SIM from the same provider and that didn’t resolve it. I will follow up on this, thanks.
Dani
I think this is actually an issue with the FP6 microphone encoding. I have tried several different audio recorder apps and all have distorted/clipped audio with lots of background hiss. Some users have reported this on videos made with the FP6 camera app or lineageOS camera. The only way I got clean audio with was the Fossify recorder, which has an option to use raw mic signal with no processing, which obviously isn’t an option for calls.
So you have the same issues as described here during calls as well? And what did you record when you noted the distortion, voice or music?
