Official LineageOS 21 for Fairphone 3/3+

I was very confused by the additional december patch, i guess… Thank you for the fast fix! The camera works again. Very cool!

Battery consumption seems to be down to usual levels again as well.

I am searching for a thread like like “LineageOS 21 for microg (FP3)” but I can’t find any. So everyrhing related to microg is also posted here?

I think as long as the topic applies to non-microg LOS as well, this thread should fit. Microg-things I suggest to take them to the Microg-community.

Ok, thanks @Switch!
I am a MicroG user and just being a coward  I don’t install updates immediately but wait and read user comments before installing. In rare cases I could avoid difficulties by doing it like this.
So I think if other MicroG users had problems with the newest update I could read it here.

Can anyone confirm me that build 20241208 does not have issues?
I’m still on 20241127 since I did rollback on it and did factory reset (I did have backups from NeoBackup).
I would upgrade to 20241208 if everyone is saying it is fine.

I’m currently in 20241218 and haven’t noticed any bugs. The only irritating thing is that the update once again reset my camera, Browser, and clock app.

The issues are resolved here.

Hi All,

Thanks for being super supportive as always. I thought of giving you all an advanced new year surprise…

Together with @Ankit_Siddhapura I am happy to share with you all that LineageOS-22.1 which is based on Android 15 QPR1 is now super stable and working fine with these changes on FP3/3+.

So, wanted to check with you all if we need an unofficial build(unsigned/test-keys) to check of potential issues before we go official for the new year.

I am fine to delay the release but would like to have the release free from any critical issues.

Feel free to share your thoughts.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for this good surprise! Another Android update for FP3 will improve its lifetime

I agree with getting an unofficial build first to check any unnoticed critical issues before official build.

I cannot complain - no issues.

Hey @TeamB58, will this be a major upgrade via ADB or will it be possible to upgrade ota?

The major upgrade LOS 20 → LOS 21 is only possible using adb sideload:

https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/FP3/upgrade/variant2/

Google Apps must be applied before first reboot.

The in-app updater would offer the update. So yeah, you will have both the options.

In my case the inplace upgrade wasn’t possible. The updates were shown, but clearly stated that they have to be installed manually.

Same here. Major upgrades always required external updates for me.

dunno if we need an unofficial build, tbh i think not.
as long as calling works an the phone doens’t crash entirely… i’m personally fine with it

Since I use LineageOS4microg I doubt that would come out issues first to upgrade. So I haven’t any right to vote.
Thanks to both mantainers for your work.
When I upgrade I would see how ARCore would run on Android 15, I hope that LOS 22.1 have a good managment of RAM.
