I’m having the following issue with my Fairphone 5 with the latest Update on A14:
I can make phone calls via Bluetooth without any problems, but music won’t play through my Bluetooth devices anymore—no matter which device I use (e.g., speaker or car). Calling (hands-free) still works perfectly.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Reset Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Re-paired and restarted devices
Tried different music apps
Unfortunately, the problem persists. In the Bluetooth settings, the device is shown correctly and “Media audio” is enabled.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Are there any known issues, maybe after a recent update (e.g., Android 14)? I’d really appreciate any help or suggestions!
Facing similar problems as Chris. I just bought a Fairphone 6 e/OS, can connect to my Teufel speaker through bluetooth, but no sound, though in Spotify it says that my phone is connected… . Connection to my Naim Unity set is wholly impossible… Any ideas?
I also have the same problem. I thought it was me and I installed a new music app but same issue, then realised it must be the phone and found your thread. I’ve raised a ticket, let’s see. I have found that it works occasionally, if i play on speaker then connect my earbud (via blutooth). but keeps dropping off after a few songs. Radio / podcasts work just fine, no issues.
If you’re on Fairphone 5 with Android 15 and Bluetooth music playback stopped working on your headphones (calls still work fine), the culprit was Bluetooth A2DP Hardware Offload in Developer Options for me.
Quick fix:
Enable Developer Options (Settings > About phone > Tap Build number 7x).
Go to Developer Options > Networking > Toggle Disable Bluetooth A2DP Hardware Offload (or “Turn off A2DP Hardware Offload”).
