When taking pictures with my brand new FP5 I don’t get the gps data in Google Pictures App.
What I checked:
Google Maps shows location, so GPS works
Camera app has location access
Pictures app has location access
Restarted my FP5
Anything else I could do?
Thanks for your help!
Regards, Frank
Did you enable storing the location information in the settings of the camera app?
For me it works pretty well with this one little limitation:
In my FP5 I’ve turned off Google location services (location based on WLAN, mobile network etc.) and only use satellite based location. That means that indoors the phone may sometimes not know where it is which in general is okay. If I take a photo with the stock camera app however it’ll save the last known location (I’ve turned on location information to be saved in the app). From Open Camera on my FP2 I was used to just not have a location saved if it was not successful in finding out where it…
Thanks Martin,
Unfortunately I cannot find this specific camera setting…
If you open the camera app there is the cogwheel in the left upper corner. You tap on that and you’ll get into the settings. For me it’s the third from the bottom and in German it says “Standortinformationen speichern”, so it should be something like “Save location data”.

Thanks so much, thought I’d seen all the settings, but you showed me some more!
And it works!
