No connections anymore: no wifi, no mobiledata

Okay, nevermind. DoT is DNS over TLS, a means of encrypting DNS queries from your device to a DNS host.

Is the cellular part/the 3g/4g transceiver a module? The wifi is really tiny but according to ifixit itā€™s in fact a module. It looks like they are soldered to the motherboard.

He still can make calls. To me this seems like a software/firmware issueā€¦ maybe an app.

Hi Pano, which components precisely did you swith off and/or uninstall?

These are the ones that have been disabled, but note that this did not happen yesterday, but four or five month ago:

Iā€™ll be doing a factory reset tonight, I guessā€¦ Thanks for all your good ideas and suggestions, though: between childcare and work@home I have been kinda slow to respond here and there.

If this does not work, Iā€™ll see if the module is fixed as it shouldā€¦

Update: I did a factory reset last night, and everything works like expected. I still have no clue whatsoever what had happened, and now we probably wonā€™t find out, but I need a working phone so I went for the nuke option.

Many thanks again for for all your help to solve this mystery!

Philipp
