Recently, the update message popped up so I ran the latest update which updated my FP5 from Android 13 to Android 14. The problem: The MyPhoneExplorer app which is used for backup the phone is not longer working, I only get this screen
“IMPORTANT! A problematic update to MyPhoneExplorer Client (the app on the cell phone) is currently causing increased problems. The problem has already been fixed and an update will be distributed by Google in the next few days. If you can’t wait that long then use the current beta version until then”
(MyPhoneExplorer | Forum)
The App was updated recently in the Play Store, I don’t know whether this is the problematic update or the fix. The MyPhoneExplorer Forum seems to be down for the moment with an internal server error.
Thanks for feedback. The current version available on Play Store still has this issue. The author writes something about an issue on his homepage and offers a beta .apk as quick fix. I will try to contact the MyPhoneExplorer’s author about this issue.
I have an android, the app gets the same message when I start on the phone. Rebooted and re-installed MyPhoneExplorer on the phone. There is not a beta phone version that I can find.
In the meantime, a fixed version has been released. To get it, use the PlayStore app, then “manage apps” and manually search for updates - MyPhoneExplorer should also appear in the list.
In my case, MPE is now working again. No longer need to fiddle with .apk direct installation or similar.
