My FP3 fell in the snow the other day and now the screen is black and it just vibrates when I try to turn it on. I thought there was a problem of connection so I cleaned everything with a window cleaning product and some compressed air. Had it dry over my heating ( but not too close) FOR 10/15 minutes and at the end still nothing… Any tip would be so much appreciated… Thank you
yes, the idea is not to spread misleading and potentially harmful solution.

´Hi,
I tried to clean it and dry it but it still doesn’t start. It vibrates when I push the dtart button but nothing else. I was wondering if it may be the battery that is out of use. What do you think?
´Hi,

I let it almost tw days drying not too far (and not too close) from a heating. So I guess it’s dry.
I have no other battery to try but I was wondering if that vould be the battery and then O would buy a new one or the display?
and you tried cleaning the display assembly connector as posted by @urs_lesse.
and after that charged the phone like @urs_lesse posted.
after all this staps its still very difficult for my only reading the information on this form to find what part of the phone ore maybe parts, are damaged.
dit you check the water damage markers as described in form wiki about watter damage, can you share if they were discolored?
my you can take the phone to your local repair shop they can do a diagnosis.
from this point wat i can see it can still be each part of the phone.
im thinking about, drained battery, display assembly or main board.
maybe you can order multiple parts if the shop agree with sending it back after you tried that part.
i can only guess if it was waterdamage, or maybe rapid temperature chang and freezing of the phone. or the schok from dropping on the ground.
maybe someone else on this form have a better plan?
As I wrote, my phone fell in the snow and now doesn’t want to work. I just have a normal vibration at first and then when I push the start button again, it is a small vibration but nothing appears on the screen.
I changed the display and the battery but I admit that now I am out of ideas…If anybody can help, that would be great!
Thanks in adavance
Anne
Hi,
I had my phone in the snow and then dried it ( but not straight). I had just a little vibration at the start but no screen, nothing. It vibrates once normally and then produces smal vibrations.
I changed the display and the battery but still only this one normal vibration and then these little ones.
What more can I do? I join pictures of the display and the oher part. If you see any damage, could you tell me please because I see none…
Thank you
Anne
Hello, we asked you some specific questions but never received specific answers. Like @T4om mentioned water indicators (described in the waterwiki I posted).
What I see now in your picture is the same water indicator marked in red - meaning damaged.
Hello,
I am sorru to everyone who tried to help me @T4om@Meaghan@urs_lesse if I haven’t answered. I didn’t do it on purpose but have a lot of work lately. I just read your article again, thank you very much for all the work you have done. I see now the red indicator.
Damaged means dead or can I still do something? I dried it and changed the display and battery, searched for articles on this subject. I read that removing the camera module could help it start. So I did.
Red only means water has hit the indicator (which voids the warranty), but not automatically damage. My own FP3+ has both indicators red since a toilet dive in August 2024, and it still works flawlessly. However, given (apparently) only the bottom indicator is red on your phone, it can give a hint where damage could have happened.
So that could be the speaker module? Can I remove the metal part to check if the damage is under it?
How did you repair yours, if it’s no too indiscrete?
I had just removed the battery instantly after the dive, then disassembled (including the metal shield, with a Torx T5 screwdriver) and cleaned the whole phone as far as possible. I then gave it 72 hours to dry. No repair was necessary (so far), apparently there was no damage at all.
