My fully charged FP6 reports a battery voltage of 4.49V!

Hi,

When fully charged my FP6 battery reports a voltage of 4.49V, which seems way to high for me. Li-ion are supposed to be charged to max 4.25V, or possibly 4.4V for high voltage variants. But 4.49V seems way too high. Could that be related to some issues (early battery death or phone not powering up, possibly due to BMS tripping)?? Note I’m running e/OS v3.1.2 official.

Well I just saw on the battery label that the max limited charge voltage is 4.5V so I guess this is fine and not the cause of other phones dying after charging.

That being said, I personally would advise limiting charge to 80% with the function provided, except on days when you’re expecting heavy demand. Your battery will remain in good health for longer so you’ll need to replace it less often.

I agree, I was only experimenting a bit. I usually charge to about 90% max. However I am on e/OS and the charge limits are not implemented unfortunately. I have to use Tasker to set up an alarm when battery reaches 90% so that I can manually unplug it. Would love to have the charge limit implemented in e/OS though.
