but seriously i have been using fast charging with my new phone from the moment i got it back and it has not been getting hot. and you can configure slow charging at certain times like when your sleeping.

i got the green :sweat_smile:

i will try to charge the phone when under 10% using it sligthly and see if it is hot.

but i fear it could affect the phone after a few days when i cant rerurn it anymore. maybe bad solders

The phone is not getting hot, or also not really warm?

Because mine is becoming quite warm when I charge it with the Fairphone 3 port charger and active fast charging.

@Fairphone_CM Will there be an update here explaining what caused the problem and when/how it was fixed?
23 people reported the same issue in this thread alone. There are probably many more who simply send their phones in directly without posting here.

We would be very grateful for any feedback.

@all kindly remind the forum and its community manager are not meant to report issues to or comment on all of them. Kindly use official channels to contact Fairphone directly to request information. The FP3 sudden death it much more widespread and it seems not widespread enough to officially comment it, so dont expect anything here.

I understand @yvmuell that is not their responsibility to keep us posted. All of us affected by the problem went via support but never got an answer, just a new device. However, we were not told if it was a hardware defect or a software issue and if it got fixed or not. This lack of transparency makes us worried. For android seems it was fixed some time ago and not for e/os (if it was software and not a coincidence). But we run on speculation, and I must say that when I need to fast charge Iā€™m scared of it will just stop working. I take the risk and check it a lot, but still itā€™s not meant for us to be paranoid, it should just work.

Hi, my Fair phone 6 is not dead, but I have noticed that after the latest firmware update it doesnā€™t always charge when plugged in. Before the update it worked fine, coincidence?

I may be overthinking it but it is green and this is strange behaviour. Itā€™s set to eco charge and 80%. Itā€™s a factory Android install.

I have Accu Battery installed but all the readings are in mAh. What does normal charging look like in mAh? Whatā€™s a normal charging temperature. Mine is not hot to the touch. Thanks
