it does not have to necessarily be connected to the update.
Could you try reattaching the screen and cleaning all the connectors?
there was a similar case reported but on FP5 but unfortunately the user did not report back whether that worked,
but there is no harm in trying I assume:) just be very careful with connectors on FP4
