'Moments' app broken, phone unusable

I installed the latest update after being prompted in my Fairphone 6 and after restarting, am stuck with the Moments menu. The toggle switch has no effect and usually clicking on the menu items does nothing (sometimes I can open Firefox). I can’t change the Moments settings as I can’t get into system settings.

Is there anything to try before doing a factory reset? I’m sure it’s a software issue rather than a problem with the switch.

Hi, I don’t have FP6 but some reviewers criticized the fact that you can still access all the apps via swiping from the bottom up. Would that work for you?

This has never worked for me, maybe already patched.

Alright. Sorry, don’t have any further ideas here.

I am on FP6.QREL.15.91.0, the latest Versio afaIk.
Swipe from the bottom up to switch apps works in this version in Faiphone Moments.

Swipe up until the white bar appears, then swipe right or left on the bar to switch apps.

Try to force reboot the phone by holding the power button. The Moments switch doesn’t survive a reboot.

@ElKrasso ok, I tried again and this does work to switch between apps which are already open, but I can only open apps from notifications or occasionally from the Moments menu.

@UPPERCASE I should have said that I’ve already tried restarting, it just boots straight in to a buggy Moments menu.

I’ll do a factory reset and disable it for the time being. I’ve only had the phone for a couple of days so not too much pain to set up again.

Hmmm, okay. I thought I read somewhere the switch position didn’t matter. At boot it was always off. But I cannot find that documentation page anymore. Or maybe I just misread.

Maybe you can check the switch-settings in the settings-app? Swipe down twice and tap the gear-icon to open the settings.

Hello,
I had the same issue and after trying everything I found that in Settings, then Default apps and changing Moments as Home app to Quickstep sorted out the problem.
Still not very happy with the FP 6 as it keeps crashing when using autoandroid.
Hope that helps.
