Mapping of contacts of Exchange account

There has been a closed post describing my problem in general: Cannot create new contact for non-exchange account since Android 6.0

My setup is an Exchange account (work) and everything else. All my contacts are mapped to the Exchange account although I do not want this. How can I define a neutral account or something similar?

If you are fine with having the non-Exchange contacts only locally on you phone, probably installing MyLocalAccount is the easiest solution. This app will allow you to create a local account for contacts.
