this phenomenon started 3 days ago while the phone was charging. Occasionally, the lower part of the screen will shine extremely bright. It will do so permanently if I reduce screen brightness to around 30% or lower. What can I do here? I notice that the bright area pretty much corresponds to the bottom module. Would it help to replace the bottom module?
Personally I wouldn’t think so.
I would suspect a fault in the screen or a problem somewhere in the connection. You might try disassembling the phone, following the iFixIt FP5 Screen Replacement instructions. Once you’ve removed the screen at step 7, give all the connectors (not just the screen) a good cleaning with surgical grade 90° alcohol (or isopropanol) applied with a cotton bud. Allow to dry for two hours before re-assembling the phone.
