Looking for nonfunctional Fairphone for a dismantle workshop at school

I am looking for a Fairphone for dismantle workshop.

So we are planing to make dismantle workshop at school for children with different hardware and we would like to do it also with mobile phone. Fairphone is clearly the best option so we are looking for one that is not working any more. Nonfuntional are actually quite difficult to find

Location: I am based in Slovakia, so shipping to Slovakia would be best.
Price: Honestly, we don’t have much resources for this, so something around 50 € would be great for us.

I am new here on the forum, found it when looking for used Fairphones. So I don’t have the trust level, so just something to add about our organisation and what we do: About us – Aj Ty v IT

Hi, I guess you could try with some FP3 that suffered a sudden death. Unfortunately it seems there are quite a few.

Thanks a lot, fortunately for the users there aren’t many, unfortunately for me  As I am not able to message the users yet, could I ask you for favor to contact user @elliryc from this forum FP3 sudden death (motherboard?) and trust issues - #4 by aspergerguy if he still got the dead phone? (The forum is already closed.)

@elliryc should be notified since you tagged him.

But I understood from his message, he would keep a dead phone for parts.

You could also check with Fairphone Angels whether they could not provide you with a phone. It seems the closest might be in Vienna.

The problem for some might be that most phones with dead motherboards probably still have the users’ data on these, so this could limit their willingness to donate it in full. Nevertheless, I shared your call on Mastodon as well, maybe someone from there will contact you (perhaps witty enough to find a contact email on your organization’s website). Give it a little time. :slightly_smiling_face:

Some interesting reading:

I could provide you with a quasi-defunct FP2 if you’re interested. I believe it was the first modular phone ever commercialized. Just postage cost.

No, I don’t know that person and it’s not me either.

Thanks a lot for the help!

Thanks a lot, I wrote to Vienna Angel and also directly to Fairphone company.

That would be so great, thanks a lot. I guess we can work out the detail in messages.
