LineageOS 22.1 for FP4 is out. Has anyone installed it yet?
No, I have not installed it yet
My FP4 has LineageOS 22.1 now . So far everything works fine.
I have also installed it and it runs well. The only thing I noticed is that I have no GPS. Although it is switched on.
GPS works here. It took same time until it did, but now it works fine. I was playing with the settings while waiting, but can’t tell if I did anything usefull or if it just needed time to adjust after the upgrade. I have LineageOS with MindTheGapps on my FP4.
I can recommend GPSTest for testing the GPS.
A big “Thank You” to all developers of LinesgeOS 22.1!
I have also installed it with MindTheGapp, but still no GPS.
I will test it with a GPS test.
Edit: I did the GPS test, it worked, but it still doesn’t work in the apps
Wich apps do you use? GPS works fine here with OsmAnd, Organic Maps and Komoot.
Have you tried in Settings → Location → Use assisted GPS? I switched that on, when GPS didn’t work at first.
Google map, Pokemon go, Monster Hunter Now, Sygic Navigation app. I have switched this on, but it does nothing.
Google Maps works here. Strange.
And this is not blocked through a firewall, like NetGuard perhaps? And all apps are allowed to use GPS?
I have not installed a firewall. Yes, all these apps are allowed to use GPS. It’s strange that it doesn’t work for me. I’ll wait for the next update.
After today’s update, everything works without any problems.
HI guys,
I am very happy about the new update. Since then the USB-HDMI Mirror works very well.
Maybe you can satisfy my interest regarding the Linux Terminal App. According to e.g. the article ( Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 is here with our first look at the working Linux Terminal app | Android Central ) it should be possible to install Linux apps on Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2.
Would this also work on other devices such as the Fairphone 4 and does this update also come via lineageos 22.2 ?
If you want a Linux terminal, try Termux from Fdroid.
I’ve just updated from Lineage 21 to 22.1 (lineage-22.1-20250108) with MindtheGapps. Everything seems to work. Awesome work by the LineageOS people!
I’ve used Fairphone 4 with Calyx OS for awhile. I’m curious if the Fairphone 4 battery life would be better on Lineage OS. Does anyone have experience with both Calyx OS and Lineage OS on Fairphone 4? Was the battery life better on Lineage OS? Good to know before I move or wipe my data to experiment…Thanks.
Since last weeks update charging control doesn’t work like it used to for me. After reaching the set battery level it seems the battery no longer charges when plugged in even after the level has dropped again until either charging control is disabled (and possibly reenabled) or the phone is rebooted. Has anyone else experienced this?
(Lineageos 22.1, Android 15, 12 february 2025.)
After yesterdays update the problem has gone away. Thanks to whoever fixed it!
Are there any known limitations?
Banking apps, Google Wallet, Google Pay?
If you want to use Google Apps and services reliably, you might want to limit the difference of LineageOS compared to a Google certified stock vendor Android OS by installing the genuine Google groundwork via packages like MindTheGapps as well as by using Google’s registration of devices running uncertified Android OSes for the legitimate use of Google services at https://www.google.com/android/uncertified to play it safe with your Google account.
Banking Apps on Custom ROMs can be a notorious problem depending on the specific App as well as specific points or spans in time, but I can’t say much else apart from this general observation because I don’t use any myself.
