I bought a new FP5 and installed Lineage OS on it. To use my good 3.5mm latch earphones I bought a cheep adapter (probably made in China) and connected it with USB-C. I can hear a strong noise all the time. At first I thought that it was the cheep adapter and I bought a good one from “Teufel” (a German high-end specialist) but that thing is also very noisy.
The support of “Teufel” wrote me, that there is a software mistake in Lineage OS, where audio adapters are not supportet very well. Can anybody confirm this? Is anybody using an adapter and a Lineage OS device without that problem?
sadly nobody answered me, so I will help anybody other to find a good USB-Adapter for his device
I tried:
NoName - Ebay (4€): Very noisy. Sent it back.
Teufel (13€): Very noisy, Support was very good, but I’m not sure, if I had contact with an AI or a real person. They told me this happend due to a problem of the incompatibility of my fairphone 5 sample rates and the earphones. They often have this problem on custom roms (something with 44.1kHz and 48kHz upsampling). I guess, they used an AI to generate my answer, because their points were not totally logical to me and were not directly understandable (I’m electrical engineer in micro electronics and I belive I should have understood it). I have sent it back.
Samsung (Fake?) direktly from china (6€): Noisy, but first one I tried where the music sounded acceptable on higher audio volumes. On a telephone call, somebody told me, I was badly understandable.
Anker (14€): Best device in my small test. Nearly no noise, definitely a recommendation. Not as good in comparison with the direct 3.5mm audio jack, but acceptable. Silent songs will be too silent to not hear the noise. No try for calling (microphone) yet.
If anybody had a nice recommendation for an absolutely noiseless device, I would be very glad.
