IodeOS 7.1 update blocked for update-app

Hi,

until IodeOS 6.9 it was possible to update to next IodeOS version by just using the IodeOS “update-app”.

No it says for IodeOS 7.1 update:

“Update blocked

this update can’t be installed with update-app. For further information go to: Upgrade LineageOS on FP5 | LineageOS Wiki "

I’m not understanding, what the IodeOS 7.1 update has to do with LineageOS?

Iode is based on Lineage and its just the same process. So instead of re-writing the same they just refer to this. 7.1 is a new Android Version and not just an update.

Did you read the announcement that for iodeOs 7 you need a different updater app? Also, iode is based on lineage and they share many things

Put the point is, why iodeOS info message leads to lineageOS

It doesn’t matter, that iodeOS is based in lineageOS.

Why not put instead the lineageOS link, the blog “how to update iodeOS” or the iodeOS APK? fixes/Updater-v6-to-v7.apk · master · ota / ota · GitLab
