Install unsigned boot.img

#1

Hi!

Since I want to continue developing my SystemTap4Android project, I have to build my own kernel which includes debug infos.
I’m capable of building, creating, and flashing a boot.img. However, I figured out FP Open uses a signed boot.img.
Thus, I must sign my own boot.img as well or disable the check.

Does someone know how do I either disable the check or sign my boot.img using the right key?
On my opinion, the latter might be complicated, because the FP crew probably won’t release the key they used.

Cheers,
Alex

Here’s how to sign TWRP images for booting them via fastboot without flashing them.
I don’t know whether it would be the same for your boot.img, but you could have a try …

Linux/ macOS

Windows
