ING DiBa app does not work properly on Fairphone 5

Hello guys. I got a Fairphone 5 recently, and my banking app seemed to be working fine. But when I ordered something from an online shop, two-factor authentication via the banking app failed. I had enough money in my account, and it worked when I tried it again with my old phone, so it seems the issue is with the Fairphone. I uninstalled and re-downloaded the app, but it was the same. Do you have suggestions as to what the issue might be or how to fix it? Thanks is advance.

What exactly means 2FA failed?
Are you running Fairphone OS or e/OS/ on your phone?

Thank you. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the exact wording, but I got a message to the effect that it failed, and I should try again, and if it failed again (which it did), call my bank. The bank advised me to try re-installing the app, which (as previously mentioned) did not fix it. I have Android 14, the newest version, I just checked.

But still the question Fairphones version of Android with all Google service or e/OS/?

Did you install or deinstall anything which might have an influence on the behaviour? Does it happen when connected to your home WiFi or using mobile data?

It’s the normal Android os with all the Google service.

No, I don’t think so. Switching to mobile data was another fix the bank suggested, but that didn’t work either.

Für die 2FA wird dann die Ing Banking app genutzt oder eine extra App? Das FP5 ist dann ggfls auch dafür registriert?

I am using the banking app, without any issues on my FP5. Have you had problems with the 2FA in the baking app before? Or was it for this specific shop?

If you can reproduce the issue the error message might help, to locate if the issue is actually the phone/app or the communication with the website/shop.

On the other hand if it worked with the old phone there might be a problem with the registration of your new device as @yvmuell pointed out.

Man nutzt die normale ING Diba App, mit der man etwa auch Überweisungen tätigt, ich habe das Gerät auch dafür registriert als ich die App installiert habe.

It was the first time I had to use 2FA with my new phone. I afterwards tried to book a tour on Airbnb, planning to cancel it if 2FA worked, but it didn’t work either.

I registered the phone with ING Diba when I downloaded the App. Excpeting 2FA everything worked so far. I afterwards tried to book a tour on Airbnb (with the intent to cancel it if the booking as successful) and it didn’t work either, it didn’t give a very specific message, just that verification of the payment method failed.
