Inductive charging on FP1?

Hi there!

Is it possible to use inductive charging on FP1? Any experience in the community with that.?Problem is my USB socket is worn out and only charges under very special conditions and I fear it will be completely unusable soon.

The challenge with wireless charging solutions for the FP1 is that those usually need permanent access to the (working) USB port. What you can consider:

  • Use an external charger for your FP1 battery
  • Find a local repair shop that resolders the USB port (or a new one)
  • Look out for a used FP1 motherboard with a stable USB port in this forum’s unofficial market
  • Contact your nearest Fairphone Angel to see if s/he has a motherboard for you

I’d especially recommend the third and fourth option.
